xserver failed to find the default font "fixed"

i have red hat 8 installed on my system
the x server of my system has got some problem .
it fails to load the GUI and i can run only command prompt
the system gives the following message:

Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

plz tell me how to solve the problem
