Hi, First the disclaimer: I am a total novice in all matters relating to fonts, beyond that I use them. However, I have had PCs and laptops running various flavours of linux and versions of XFree86 for a number of years. Now my problem: I have an application (not mine, and binary only), which I am trying to get to run properly under WhiteBox linux (RHEL3 source tree)and X (4.3.0.62). There is a missing font problem which prevents it from working. I believe that this is due to the base font set for it being Helvetica 14pt, 11pt, 9pt and 6pt. Only the first of these seems to be available in the XFree86 fonts. As to why they've chosen these sizes, I don't know. However, I need a remedy to this problem. There seem to be 2 possible approaches. Either: 1. Obtain or create the missing fonts from somewhere 2. Make these fonts appear to be present, whilst pointing to the equivalent available ones (e.g. Helvetica 12pt, 10pt and 8pt). I have no experience of the latter, not really knowing where to start, and could find no real pointers to a simple solution based on the former. Any help in resolving this problem would be most gratefully received. TIA Regards Mike
