mouse arrow color in XFree-4.3

Hi,

I hope this is the right list to ask such questions, if not please tell me a 
better place to ask something like this ;)

After I upgraded to XFree-4.3 my mouse arrow is transparent and mostly white. 
As you can imagine a white transparent mouse arrow on an almost white 
background doesn't give a high contrast. Before I upgraded it was black on a 
white background. Well I guess this is controlled by the application, but I'm 
not sure, especially since I didn't have those problems before I upgraded.

Is there a way to disable the mouse cursor transparency ? How can I set the 
mouse cursor color at all  (I have no experience programming X, but I hope 
its only a funtion call to set the color) ?
