I'm not trying to "dictate" anything, and the lack of knowledge of people outside the core team / BOD is the very problem at hand.

Well, I don't know (and never recall saying I knew) who the bad guy is. That is assuming there is even a "bad" guy - I am usually suspicious when things are painted in such polar terms.

On the other hand, there has been some extremely nasty character assassination backed up by "all the proof for this is on private mailing lists that we refuse to post". That, coupled with the same folks accusing the teleconference attendees of lack of openness is blatant hypocrisy.
