It will never happen. Some stuff does get adjusted "to taste", vendors add fixes that maintainers run screaming from to fix something for CD date not properly. Also as distributors we don't expect someone else to take all the flack if we screw up. "Sorry http://bugzilla.redhat.com or the red hat lists" is a perfectly reasonable response from a non paying volunteer to a vendor bug IMHO My experience is users want it to.... work.
