	Hi, everyone.

	I've been reading this thread since Keith started it, and IMHO i find it very 
amusing and looking like "my brother is stronger than yours, and my dad can 
drink more bear than yours".
	My intention is not to start another flame war, or so, my intention is to 
express my impression and view point. I AM NOT TAKING SIDES. 

	Let me begin,

	1. The thing that Keith posted only a few messages is not very productive.
Keith if you express your opinion to the community than stand up and defend 
it.

	2. Buying voting rights, hm...
I'm mister Barns from The Simpsons, so I will found a lot of companies, buy 
them right to vote, and screw X. Although this is very unlikely, it is 
possible, isn't it. He who writes actual code and commits its precious time 
to the project should be the one who can vote. Word from those people should 
be the last one, not some companies' who make a lot of money on those 
peoples' hard work. Of course ones who can vote should listen what the 
community has to say, not to obey, but to bear in mind what people need. Of 
course there should be list of open jobs for volunteers in the way, this 
needs to be done, that needs to be repaired... any volunteer?

	3. Concerning standards I am 100% with Havoc.

	4. Monopoly. Let's look away from XFree86 for the moment. Why are GNOME 2.2 
and KDE 3.1.1 so damn good, or why are linux and *BSD so good. Because of the 
competition. None of the developers have big material compensation (if any at 
all), for working on those projects, but in human nature is to compete. 
That's why will both KDE and GNOME remain good, stable, and will continue to 
improve with such speed. Same thing applies ti linux kernel and *BSD one. 
This is not the case with XFree86 which has de facto monopoly on *nix like 
systems. That's why things need to change in to the direction described in 2.
Current system is not working very well. Don't say it's working, because there 
is no release schedule, feature plan, etc...

	5. Build&config system. Awful. This need to be revised ASAP, I am having one 
graphics card, one this and one that ... I do not need to build drivers and 
modules for everything. IMHO linux kernel build and config system are the 
best solutions. Before you start sending flames to me because of this, I am 
not saying that this is not possible right now, but I think that no one likes 
running around in subdirs and trying to locate right config file, etc.

	Speaking for myself.

P.S. Concerning 5. I've started to work on it about few weeks ago, but I can 
not find anywhere, the dependency list, in the way if you want this feature 
on than you have to include this one to, or if this feature is disabled than 
you can not have those ones, etc. Any URL or something else would be 
appreciated.
