   Personally, I am happy to have another project drive standards
and leave XFree86 to trying to be the best implementation.  I think
XFree86 has enough work just trying to ensure that it has the 
infrastructure in place to be the best X11 implementation and
pursuing that goal, which is the only one we've agreed to.

    "Being X" is a big responsibility, not to mention that X.org
probably thinks it already owns that role.  I don't see why you
need to have a single organization in charge of all this.  And
I don't think it's fair to thrust the burden of this upon the
XFree86 project.  We didn't ask for this and I don't think we're
willing.
