RE: Discussing issues

I have heard multiple people voice a preference for pursuing
implementation rather than standards.

Years ago, the XC generally
discouraged us, thus there was little
opportunity to collaborate on
standards or play a role as an SI.
X.org seems much more open to
collaboration, but even so, much of
the success is the result of focus on
good performance and practical
achievements.  Since this focus has
been a key advantage, additional goals
tend to be scrutinized fairly
carefully.
