I have made an installation of a ups ( onduler ) on my PC which is a Linux server. Then I have restart my computer. Since that I don t manage to start the X server. A horrible blue window appear to me and there is some strange characters.So, I have restart my computer in text mode and I notice this : # service xfs start OK # service xfs status xfs is stopped but it exists a pid files ( or something like that ) # service xfs stop FAILED Here is the list of all the errors or warning there are in the XFree86.log : ATI(0): failed to set up write-combining range ( 0xfd000000,0x800000 ) Cannot shadow an accelered frame buffer Could init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list Fatal server error could not open default font 'fixed' Open APM failed ( /dev/apm_bios ) No such device --------------------------------------- I join to you the whole XFree86.log Excuse me for my english but I am a french people, please help me ....
