The click/move/clickback thing has been solved a few interesting ways. One of them being wormholes - Tiny X windows you can leave around which when hit warp the mouse to the other end of the hole. Its also not clear to me what it would mean to have two mice controlling two pointers for things like focus - even at the philosophical level. If it was "last moved cursor wins" then X already does this with multiple input devices that are in absolute mode.
