I use the commercial drivers.  The current ones are on nVIDIA's web site
at http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux.html 

The installer is a shell script which will install whatever version is
needed by your kernel.  (Unless you are running 2.6.x and then you need
to get the patched version.)

The closed source driver works better than the one in XFree86, but
invokes theological responses from some. (Especially in the Debian
community.)
