Yeah, sure, i understand this, but still it is the right of the XFree86
project to change the licence and it doesn't cause any major problem, at
least not the kinds that the parent poster feared about.

Notice that the XFree86 project has never been able to use GPL'ed code
anyway, so the only problem would be if a GPLed project would want to
use code under the new lincence, they can either ask the XFree86 project
for it, or not use it. Nobody is forcing them to use it.

Maybe a X server under dual GPL/XFree whatever licence would be the end
to all problems here ?
