As if you also didn't profit from the time and effort of the remaining contributors, not me necessarily, since i only did some little thing (mostly permedia3 driver work), but others gave you more meaningfull contributions. One more reasons why i believe that the GPL is superior to the BSDish family of licences. > And Sven, like those on www.xfree86.org/distro-support.html who don't agree > with your take, why don't you hightail it over to the Foundation series and go bond with your fellow man? Ah, i was expecting this higly agressive response from you Georgina, how sad, but as said, i don't expect anything else from you on this matter. BTW, please tell me which major distro (apart from slackware apparently) did go for 4.4 ? And listing a whole page of mostly obscure distros is not really a point in your favor. What of Suze, Redhat, Mandrake, Debian, Yellow Dog Linux, Gentoo ? None of them are touching stuff with these new licences, and they represent the major part of the linux userbase, which mostly makes XFree86 irrelevant for the future. As for *BSDish distros, only one out of 3 major distros did go your way. This is a sad thing, but it was your choice to go that way, and altough i disagree with this, i respect your choice. You should not put your head in the sand though, and accept full responsability for that. Friendly, Sven Luther
