BTW, please tell me which major distro (apart from slackware apparently) > > did go for 4.4 ? When linux started it was nothing and now proprietary Unix is dying because of this little' obscurity. History is on their side. ANyhow, I do not consider Conectiva and United Linux obscure, nor NetBSD, but then you consider debian important (yuk yuk). How many security patches since 4.1 do you have? Our site urges everyone to upgrade so those known bugs can no longer be exploited. It seems that debian wants them exploited. I don't know how anyone could use such a worthless & buggy system. But I think the big distros ought to worry personally. Small distros are cheaper (you can get Slack for $3.98 from the Linux Mall compared to $95.00 for NovelSusie ) and when they are highlighted what you call small today is a powerhouse tomorrow. And historically speaking, In the battle between the little man (David) and the giant (GOliath), the giant lost (see 1 Samuel 17:4).
