Technically, end users will use whatever their distro put in the binary
packages, and will not bother with it, provided they get a working graphical
interface.
Philosophically, if your is distributing the sources with the binaries, you
already have a license copy in the sources (actually, more than one).
Can you list the "various reasons" users may have a desire to migrate to
something else? I think these are probably bugs, misconfigurations, failure
on (auto) configuration, etc.
