Hello, As I'm not very keen on "devel issues", I have not been able to found an answer to a very simple interrogation. The only clue I get was that the "nv" driver has been written again from scratch. I was expecting, as DRI do for ATI older GPU, a module solution to improve in a sheer free software way the perfomance of 3D on my Linux box (mandrake 9.2). The utah-glx seems to stand-by since nVidia released their closed-source proprietary drivers for X. So my question will split : -> Is the solution provided by Levant (Utah-GLX) for Xfree (the release I found was dedicated to 4.2 btw) stable (carrier-grade I mean, not good enough for evil geek messing up his computer every 2 days) & proficient enough with 4.3 to bear the annoyment to set it up ? -> Does the 4.4 "re-written" "nv" driver include some significant improvement for OpenGL implementation ?? As I'm displeased with MandrakeLinux decision to un-ship 4.4, I would come back, if necessary, for compiling the 4.4 on my own. Your answers, hints, tips, or experiences will be very profitable. Thank you by advance, Regards, Jean-Alexandre --
