The intel815 hardware doesn't work without agpgart (unlike most other chips which only need it for 3D): XFree86 v3 and v4 have different agpgart interfaces. You might be able to recompile your old the i815-enabled agpgart module to wirk with 2.6, but it was designed for a 2.2 kernel, so this may not be trivial. I'd suggest that you upgrade to XFree86 v4.4 (or at least v4.something). If you can't, and don't have the i815-enabled 2.2 agpgart source, I think I may still have a copy. -- Andrew C.
