Hi.

Reading this forum for a while, there are a few interesting things I have
noticed:

I. I don't know if it was Mr Packards intention to do a fork of the
XFree-project, but it might not be a bad idea.
It might actully help XFree more than you think. A good example is EGCS and
GCC.

It can also be better for the user community, such as when XFree itself was
forked from X386. We all know the outcome of that.

II. There are some members of the BOD who again and again speaks about
'meritocracy' and 'put your code where your mouth is'.
Still, they seem to be very inactive themselves in contributing code to the
XFree-project.

Granted, they did great things before. But it probably would do the
organisation better if those seats were instead open to those who actively
improve XFree.
A small, dynamic and active group of contributors who take the decisions.
Sounds like a winning team to me.

III. More openess and ethics are required. Yes, alot have happened lately.
Suddenly more mailinglists came open, there was a bugzilla and now this
forum.

Right now there are alot of accusations agains Mr Packard, both on the
website and here in the forum.

But where is the evidence?

I would say it unfair to accuse someone without backing up with evidence.
If the BOD wishes to keep it between themselves and the accused, is it
really a good idea to publically disgrace this person on their website?

Just my two cents.
