Flawed analogy. It doesn't work for Iraq does it.

Nor is it really the problem XFree86 has - it doesn't really matter how
you "elect"  project leaders, it matters how they do things. Linus is
a dictator but it works well. There are projects like Debian which are
deeply democratic and seem to work rather the way the UK government
people do - by being so far behind the ball that they don't get in the
way of what is really going on.
