Thats how Apple have always done this, and it makes a lot of sense to
use a good underlying renderer. Even Mac68K Unix used the quickdraw layers.

Xnest is an XFree built server that doesn't scan the PCI bus, and with
kdrive is really easy to build such a server. The ipaq isnt known for its
PCI support either
