We're not ignoring you...

Just wanted to give a quick head's up to the list.

We are not ignoring this forum, all the suggestions, proposals, flamage,
support, etc. Just the opposite - we're overwhelmed, and thrashing somewhat
on what concrete steps to take next.

We've decided to take a short self-imposed cool-down breather. This all
kicked off two weeks ago as a very heated/emotional stuff, degenerated from
their, and has slowly built back up into some really good discussions, with
a lot of interesting proposals. We've decided that we (XFree86 Core Team and
BOD) want to take a few days of NOT discussing this stuff, then come back
with some good analysis and concrete plans. We are hoping that with a few
days of NOT talking about it we can move past anger and flamage, hurt
feelings, etc, into concrete progress.

We currently plan to get back at it on Monday, working through the proposals
from the desktop groups and X.Org, as well as sorting through the individual
suggestions, sorting out policy issues from process issues from technical
issues, and decide what position(s) we want to take on various issues. You
should see one or more "formal" XFree86 statements mid-to-end of next week,
I think.

We thank you in advance for your consideration, and for giving us a few days
to "reboot".
