Arun,

To begin with, you should be able to use xstshowfont for an initial
display of the font.  Under the file option, select Text ... and enter
any Indic text you like. (Cut and paste should work)  Select your
Indic font and see how it looks.

Note: the 0.4 release does not have full CTL support. That is to be
included in the 0.5 release.

Currently, GNOME can utilize STSF via the Xft-STSF bridge that
was put out on the site.  GNOME uses pango for layout, so the
bridge only handles the rendering of the fonts.

We are working with application developers to use STSF natively.
The two interfaces that STSF provides include the full layout and
display ability which will require applications to change to take
advantage of it, and the glyph rendering interface which the
bridge utilizes.
