OK, so if you don't run vmware your Mozilla 1.0 doesn't crash either?
You could try the option "NoZap" in the server flags section. This 
will disable crtl-alt-bs.

What are the other problems running vmware? It should work if you
don't do full screen mode. Doesn't it?
