Problems with Xfree86 4.1.x and Dell laptop

Hello all

I am new to this list and in need of some help. I have
a Dell CPI-R that was running wonderfully until I
upgraded to Xfree86 4.1.0. Since that time I have been
unable to use my laptop in it's docking station. It
appears that there is no video signal out to the
monitor. If I back down to an older Xfree86 all works
again. Problem is this is keeping me in the redhat 7.1
days and I would very much like to use some of the
newer features. I have tried using my old conf files
but they seem to not work with Xfree86 4.1.x. Does
anyone have any suggestions or a conf file that is
working for them? I use this machine for my schooling
so I really need this issue resolved as soon as
possible. Thank you all for any help you can provide.
