Hi there, After gaining enough courage I re-compiled RedHat's XFree-4.2.0 RPMs with the new XVideo support for the neomagic driver on my old little laptop :-) Thanks to all those that did the hard work implementing the functionality! You can find the RH-7.2 RPMs, source RPM, patch and binary driver at http://ltswww.epfl.ch/~dsanta/resources/linux The RPM is a patched version of XFree86-4.2.0-6.62 (from RawHide). The patch just changes the neomagic driver to the one in the XFree86 CVS (excluding the multiple domains stuff in neo_bank.c). If you already have a version of XFree86 4.2.0 installed you can probably just replace the neomagic driver with the new one (also available on the web page above). More instructions are available on the web page above. So far I have used it successfully, although I haven't had much time to test it. It would be good to know if anyone encounters any problems. I also submitted and RFE in RedHat's bugzilla along with the patch (bug #63609): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=63609 Best, Diego -- ------------------------------------------------------- Diego Santa Cruz PhD. student Publications available at http://ltswww.epfl.ch/~dsanta Signal Processing Institute (ITS) -- formerly LTS Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) EPFL - STI - ITS, CH-1015 Lausanne, Switzerland E-mail: [email protected] Phone: +41 - 21 - 693 26 57 Fax: +41 - 21 - 693 76 00 -------------------------------------------------------
