disconnecting from Xserver not logging out ?

Hi,
Is there a possible way to disconnect from a X server which I connect trough 
xdmcp, but not logging out? I mean is it possible to prevent Xserver to 
logout, when connection is ended and connecting again would bring the 
desktop I used before disconnecting.
