Basically XF86Config is to be read and interpreated from standard
locations

via startx (xdm) and associated scripts. Your window manager mostly
nicely

pics this up.

Thus, there is no need to copy XF86Config around, leave it where it is.

What you can do is to change your X-window managers behaviour.

Honestly speeking you can move XF86Config and associates to where ever

you want, but why move it to none standard.
