What is tinyX for ?

This list is now defunct.  Please subscribe to XFree86.I just found a package in Debian called xserver-tinyX. I installed it.
But now, since there is not much documentation on it,I am still
wondering what it does! In the meantime, I also found a program called
Xfbdev, and later discovered that it was there as a result of tinyX.

So, I thought that linking /etc/X11/X to this might be a way to try it
out. But then, after 'startx', my system just froze!! I do have i810fb
kernel module working all right.

I tried Google, but all I found was some tinyX Linux Distro !

Can anyone through some light on what this thing actually is or what is
does ?
