New nickle implementation of proposed trapezoid algorithm

I've put together a nickle implementation of the proposed trapezoid 
algorithm, it operates from first principles for each computation, so it 
should be relatively stable and certainly very different from a "real" 
implementation which should provide a good verification of both 
implementaions.
