AA fonts with mozilla on skipjack

I'm trying to get AA fonts working in mozilla, so I downloaded the
mozilla xft packages from here:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/experimental/xft/

and installed them.  I get anti-aliased fonts, but they are a weird
selection of fonts and I can't seem to figure out where they came from
or how to add my own fonts.  I edited my unix.js pref's to include the
appropriate directories and such, and I even edited my XftConfig to
include my own fonts, but so far I only get a few fonts, none of which
are very useful.  I'd like to use my Microsoft TT fonts.
these are the only fonts that show up:

Arioso
Helmet
Timmons
Chevara
Conga

plus for some reason they all seem to be listed as iso10646-1.

If anyone has any insight I'd really appreciate it.

PS, BTW did the mozilla 0.9.9 that shipped with skipjack have xft
support compiled in?
