Fyi, on today's FreeBSD -current with XFree86-4.2.0 and FreeType 2.0.9
installed from ports I am seeing:

Trying to apply the Qt3 patch to qt-x11-free-3.0.3.tar.bz2 yields a bunch of
fuzzy applies and 3 rejects:
