xft2/gdk2/pango patches

Thanks much for the release of the xft2 and fontconfig libraries; they
look fantastic on my laptop that does not support RENDER. I'm a bit
confused, however, by the gtk2/gdk2 patches at

... which I'd like to try out. But wouldn't a matching pango be
required, also built against the new libraries? Are there patches for
this as well floating around somewhere?
