how to restart the Xserver through telnet?

Hi,all
	Sometimes The Xserver cann't respond to the mouse and keyboard due
to some program with fatal bugs. But I can handle with the machine from
another machine by telnet. 
I want to kill the Xserver and return the shell mode. So it needn't reboot
the machine entirely. How can I do it ?
