What makes you think so? The state-of-the-art PC graphics card today is not all that much different from the state-of-the-art PC graphics card of 24 months ago. We've seen incremental improvements like ubiquitous alpha blending and improved texture compression, and we've seen evolutionary increases in frame buffer memory, but I guess I would be surprised to find either "huge amounts of per-pixel memory" or "high- precision floating point throughout the graphics pipeline" in mainstream graphics cards 24 months from now. -- - Tim Roberts, [email protected] Providenza & Boekelheide, Inc.
