X.org is currently putting it's resources into the MAS project to
bring audio & multimedia support to X.  You can see details at:
	http://www.mediaapplicationserver.net/

("Xaudio" is actually the name of a commerical product for many
  platforms including Linux & Unix, so should not be used to
  describe projects to bring audio to X unless you want confusion
  and/or letters from trademark lawyers.)
