One possible compromise, which I've thought about implementing for 
awhile but haven’t gotten around to it yet, would be to include dockapps 
with active maintainers on windowmaker.org/dockapps, but just link to 
their webpages instead of hosting tarballs as we do for the dockapps in 
the dockapps repository.

That way there would be a central location to get dockapps, but upstream 
maintainers would still maintain control.
