Thanks for the help! I managed to get it built with Johann's patch. But I will definitely check yours out! I am struggling to get the next Liquid Lemur out. I just don't have the free time I had when I started it years ago.

I've successfully built a debianized wmaker for Debian using the
attached ./debian sub directory. Please try if it proves to be useful
for your purposes.
