BUG: can't open new Windows

Hi,

sometimes strange things happen on my system...

Last night I just switched off my monitors ... and after switching them
on today I unlocked the xscreensaver. Everything seemed to fine despite
one fact:
I am not able to open any window. Wich means you can try to start any
app, but no window will arise.
Windows which are open work correctly.

The strange thing is:
When I close ONE xterm I can open just ONE xterm again.

Is there somwhere a counter that counts how many windows are open. How
many got closed or something like that.
To fix that I need to reboot.
Would be nice to get this fixed without rebooting. This is really annoying.

Using openSUSE Leap 42.1 which comes with '0.95.6', I also recompiled
the latest version '0.95.7' with no success. It happens on both.

If you need more info just let me know.
Thank you.
