SI es posible tener menus transparentes en Window Maker,  Yo escribi un parche que lo hace posible.  lo que no puedo es garantizar el resultado puesto que ya no lo utilizo, http://vlaadworld.net/public/trance.patch es posible que la version CVS sea mejor
