Hm. I use utf-8 throughout my system (LANG=de_DE.UTF-8). You are
right, umlauts appear correctly in the applications menu title, but
only there, not in the title bar of a normal window (like xterm). For
example, starting xterm with the option "-T bäh" produces a title bar
with a single "b". The same happens when a Java program calls
frame.setTitle("bäh").
Other window managers (fvwm and openbox) display titles correctly on
the same system. So I guess it must be a WindowMaker issue.
