I did just that :-) (downloaded the CVS snapshot).
I had a problem installing it though,

When I finished installing with ./configure --PREFIX=/usr/local/windowMaker
windowmaker started up ok but icons and such were missing. The WPrefs icon for example. Because Iknew which one it was, I tried opening WPrefs, but it complained that it couldn't find /usr/lib/GNUstep/WPrefs.app, 
I looked in /usr/lib and there was no GNUstep directory.
So I'm thinking the 'make install' may not have put everthing in the right place...

any comments?
