Turns out that Red Hat 9 had an rpm problem. Installed the fix and was able to 
install Window maker 0.8X. (Double-clicking the rpm file in Nautilus still 
won't work, though! Had to do it all from a terminal.) Oh well! Shades of 
Windoze!
