Hi-
From the Window Maker homepage:
"As of 0.90.0, libXft2 is a required library."
I'm sure I'm not the first to ask, but why oh why is an
unobtainable, perhaps unmaintained library being used for
recent WM versions?
An alternative would be to have the configurator sense
the presence or absence of this fabled lib, then build WM
without it (sans the fancy FreeType font stuff).
The WM 'requirements' section should at least include a link
to a library ftp/website or at least a local tarball. After
many fruitless searches using many different search engines,
I finally stumbled upon a single obscure posting on a Japanese
website:
http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/cygwin/release/X11/libXft/libXft2/
Is this version old, current, usable? What version is WM
expecting?
If Cygwin maintains this lib, PLEASE add a link to the WM
requirements section indicating this.
ron
