Greetings All:
Must be something simple I'm missing here. Trying to compile o.92
stable and CVS-20050703, but get an error about the version of libxft
that is present. The error from config.log:
checking whether libXft is at least version 2.1.0... no
ERROR!!! libXft on this system is an old version.
Please consider upgrading to at least version 2.1.0.
The same error from the ./configure script:
checking for the Xft2 library... found
checking whether libXft is at least version 2.1.0... no
ERROR!!! libXft on this system is an old version.
Please consider upgrading to at least version 2.1.0.
I am using debain sid (kanotix) and here is the version info on the xft
libraries present:
$ apt-cache show libxft2 says: Version: 2.1.7-1
$ apt-cache show libxft-dev says: Version: 2.1.7-1
As I read it, the version on the system meets the version requirements,
but the configure stops anyway. Can anyone enlighten me as to the
solution? (0.92 is running on the laptop from a .deb install file, but
I want to increase the width of the windowlist again as per advice from
Charles in the 0.91 version.)
many thanks,
Norm
