This is mainly due to our very limited time we have to allocate to Window Maker lately. When we were students we had much more time for this, and people may even remember we sometimes had 2-3 releases per week. But now with both of us having fulltime jobs, and with Window Maker being already quite mature we spend very little time on it. > > I would like to stress that this is not a complain, there is no point > in complaining in the world of open source, because GPL allows forking > a project anytime one feels that it becomes a necessity. > > This is just to see if the current developers are still interested in > improving WMaker. It would be better if they could indeed clarify > things a little for us. Bug fixes and patches will be generally accepted unless there isn't a very obvious problem with their approach or implementation. Enhancements can also be accepted if they do not fall in the "creeping featurism" category. If someone has some improvement idea and would like to implement it it would be better to describe it on wm-dev and ask for opinions before jumping to implement it just to find out that we do not agree with some of it. However considering that our target is to fix bugs and finalize the things we have set as a target before 1.0.0 is released, we are in a kind of freeze mode and new features won't generally be incorporated unless they have a very small impact on the code. Working on bug fixes and 1.0.0 targets is the main focus now. -- Dan _______________________________________________ INFO: http://windowmaker.info/lists/listinfo/wm-user ARCHIVE: http://windowmaker.info/lists/archive/wm-user/ FAQ: http://windowmaker.info/faq.php
