I usually do anywhere from one to three hikes a week, and try to get about one overnight trip a month.  My toddler is usually carried on my back when I hike, but I'm by myself when I go overnight.

FIELD USE
 
I took the notebook with me for a four mile hike.
 
SUMMARY
 
I kept my waterproof UST notebook in my shirt pocket for easy access.  I used to to log all of the turns we made, and the different trails we took.  We walked down to a lake to stop for a rest, and I dunked my notebook with all of my notes in the water to test the waterproofing.  I then applied reasonable force in an attempt to rip one of the pages.
 
THINGS I LIKE
 
I like that the notebook fits perfectly in my shirt pocket.  The notebook is of solid construction, and held up to being dunked under water.  I was able to wipe the water right off with my shirt without smudging any of the wrighting.  The pages did no rip when I tested how rip-proof they were.  The ruler along the left side of the cover is useful for navigation and a variety of other things.  The "all weather pencil" provided with the notebook writes just as well on the waterproof paper as would be expected on normal paper.  I  also like that the spiral binding itself is of solid construction and does not seem as if it will bend after being carried in my pocket or pack.
 
THINGS I DON'T LIKE
 
The only thing I don't like is the checklist on the back.  I find it somewhat corny and feel as though no one list of item fits every situation.  I think simple would be better.
