Hi Rosaleen,
Thanks for the response. I live in southern Louisiana. I'm thinking of
hitting up the Kisatchie National Forest in the near future as it's roughly
2 hours from me and one of only 2 in the state. I've never been there so
I'm hoping its a nice place as i'll probably be spending alot of time
there. I was looking at Hot Springs, AR and the AR parts of the Ozark as
being relatively close (6-8 hours from me).

My 6 year old has been backpacking before, but it was a very short
hike/trip and she does listen fairly well and loves camping so that helps.
But yes, the two of them together is exhausting. :)  My husband is good
about watching them though so he's offered to stay home with them so I can
get some time away to go. *If* I were to bring both hubby would def. be
coming with me.

 Yes please send me any sites that may be useful esp the women's specific
ones. I've been looking around trying to find someone to go with but not
having much luck. This isn't a very outdoorsy area.
