I have done a lot of hiking in the Phoenix, Arizona area since I retired 4 years ago. Most notable hikes were: Two years ago I hiked the Havasupai Trail in the Grand Canyon to Supai Village and waterfalls.  
In February, 2012, hiked the 12 mile Superstition Ridge near Apache Junction.  That prepared me for my first overnight backpack adventure...a Rim to Rim to Rim solo backpacking hike in the Grand Canyon in early May, 2012.
Sure wish I had found this group before my GC hike and would have helped  lot with gear selection.  Now I'm ready to learn more and maybe contribute some ideas too.
