Anyone ever use Papa Seca (Preuvian dried potatoes)?

Today I was a a local Mexican grocery store and picked up a bag of "Papa Seca" (dried potatoes). They are golden in color, and look like chunks of amber.

The bag has one recipe printed on it for "Peruvian Meal", but it doesn't say how long to cook it. There are no general usage instructions on the package. I can't find much info about Papa Seca on the Internet either.

Has anyone ever used this product for backpacking meals? If so, I'd appreciate any info on how to cook them, and if it's even appropriate for backpacking (i.e. do they take forever to cook?).

Thanks,
   Joe
