Hi Bill, I've tried silk, and like other natural materials it was slow to dry when it became wet from perspiration. Patagonia's "Silkweight" Capilene is about as light as silk, and not too expensive at $35 or so, and didn't have that problem. Please let us know the results of your testing, if you'd be so kind. Will be trying silk, but can anyone recommend comparably light synthetic? Are there any wool base layer that are essentially silk weight? > > Thanks! > > Bet, > > Bill >
